The Challenge
While the CCPQC platform was excellent for administration, the regional league needed a public-facing website designed for fans and players. The goal was to create a fast, visually appealing, and mobile-first experience that could serve as the go-to source for live scores, standings, and team information.
My Solution
I opted for a headless architecture to ensure maximum performance and design flexibility. I developed the entire frontend using Next.js and React, communicating with the existing backend via a new GraphQL API. This approach allowed for lightning-fast page loads and real-time data updates without refreshing the page.
Key Features:
- Instant Data Updates: Live game scores and standings update on the screen in real-time.
- High-Performance Frontend: A statically generated site using Next.js for incredible speed and SEO.
- Mobile-First Design: A completely responsive experience that looks great on any device.
- Dynamic Content: All team and tournament information is pulled dynamically from the central database.
